『ドーハ・ラウンド交渉：今、守るべき利益とは？』
OECD東京センターでは、『ドーハ・ラウンド交渉：今、守るべき利益とは?』をテーマに下記の要領で講演会を開催いたします。
WTOのドーハ・ラウンド交渉は、2005年12月の香港閣僚会合で一定の進展を得ながらも農業の補助金や関税の引き下げ方式などについて新たに設定された4月30日の期限を目 指して交渉が続いています。貿易の自由化により、各国、特に開発途上国は、どれほどの経済的利益を期待できるでしょうか。また、後に交渉が停滞する場合には、WTOシステムはどのような影響を受けるのでしょうか。
本講演会では、ジャン-マリー・メツゲル(Jean-Marie METZGER)貿易局長によるプレゼンテーションに引き続き、質疑応答の時間を設けております。

The WTO Ministerial Meeting in Hong Kong in December 2005 made some progress in advancing the Doha Development Agenda. But much remains to be done, particularly in setting negotiating modalities in agriculture and NAMA and in putting some flesh onto the bones of the GATS. Given the work still to do, it is not guaranteed that new deadlines will be met or that the DDA will be
concluded on time.
The OECD work supports the Doha Development Agenda by informing the negotiators on the costs and benefits of the different issues under negotiation. Mr. Metzger will provides analysis on how these benefits can be reaped as well as how costs could be offset.
